Additionally, Oroville is intersected by State Hwys 70 & 162, and to the west by State Hwy 99.City population of 14,490 with a surrounding unincorporated population of approximately 55,000.Service Delivery The City Council has adopted the Fire Department Standards of Cover Guidelines to the safety element of the General Plan to guide future growth issues, and staff recommends the maintenance of this standard. The goal statements are:
"Fire Department travel times should place a first-due unit at scene within five minutes travel time, for 90% of fire and medical incidents.""Fire Department units shall be located and staffed such that an effective response force of four units with eight personnel minimum shall be available to all areas of the City within a maximum of ten minutes travel time, for 90% of all structure fires."
