Responsibilities of Parks & Trees
      The Department of Parks & Trees fulfills a full
spectrum of activities, including but not limited to:
      • Manages a wide range of human services to help enrich
         the lives of those who
reside in our community.
      • Administers, manages and implements programs to
         maintain and beautify the City's
parklands and          recreational facilities.
      • Administers, manages and implements leisure
service programs to          accommodate a
variety of interests, ages, cultures and abilities.
      • Coordinates community special events and civic
and cultural programs.
      • Planting of new park and street trees.
      • Watering of new street trees.
      • Pruning and maintenance of park trees.
      • Pruning and maintenance of the new trees and an
         estimated 10,000 existing street trees.
      • Maintenance and care of 80 Memorial Deador Cedars.
      • Removal of diseased or dangerous trees.
      • Trimming of 160 trees along the Feather River
         Bike Path.
      • Maintenance of 118 Palm Trees.
