Annual Military Equipment Use Report

California Assembly Bill (AB) 481 requires California law enforcement agencies to obtain approval of a Military Equipment Use Policy by their governing body prior to engaging in certain actions related to funding, acquisition, or use of military equipment. Per California Assembly Bill No. 481, the Oroville Police Department Military Equipment Use Policy was adopted by the Oroville City Council prior to May 1, 2022 (Ord. 1865 § 2, 2022). On August 1, 2023, the Annual Military Equipment Use Policy was published as an agenda item for the open session of the Oroville City Council meeting and an opportunity for public comment in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act. On August 15, 2023, the Oroville City Council approved the proposed 2023 Military Equipment Use Policy. 

To create transparency for our community, the 2023 Military Equipment Use Policy Requirement (Oroville Municipal Code 9.25.010-080), the Annual Military Equipment Use Report, and the full text of the California Legislature AB 481 have been published on this webpage.
